According to GeoHotz blog it is reccommended to do a clean update via iTunes then jailbreak and/or unlock.

My phone is jailbroken and unlock to version 3.0.1 with baseband (modem firmware) 04.26.08

so should I update using the official Apple iTunes firmware update to 3.1.2 with baseband 05.11.07 prior to using blacksn0w comes noon EST today?

Its really simple and easy. Only a couple seconds usually and no different then other unlocks from what I take it as.
Read the blog, there is some steps described and more to be posted once released.
It sounds like GeoHotz real nailed it this time and should be a gooder!
