According to GeoHotz blog it is reccommended to do a clean update via iTunes then jailbreak and/or unlock.

My phone is jailbroken and unlock to version 3.0.1 with baseband (modem firmware) 04.26.08

so should I update using the official Apple iTunes firmware update to 3.1.2 with baseband 05.11.07 prior to using blacksn0w comes noon EST today?

Its really simple and easy. Only a couple seconds usually and no different then other unlocks from what I take it as. A click here and there, done!
Read the blog, there is some steps described and more to be posted once released or posted above in the blog.
It sounds like GeoHotz real nailed it this time and should be a gooder!
