Might be stupid question but….

Can I update my 1st gen iPhone through itunes and use it without jailbreaking?
Or, sincie I don’t have 3G, that will just screw up my phone?

“Steer Clear, don’t use lol” this stealthsim is not those crap chips that you need to do these things. Modifying your iphone with this free software ain’t a great idea bud. You destroy your warranty……..say bye bye to your 500 dollar investment if you screw up. With a stealthsim, all you do is place it over your sim and you are FREE JAILBROKEN with no added software just your normal itune updates.

Over at the hackint0sh forums we’ve been monitoring the whole “SIM-card unlock” system, these involve a chip that is attached to your SIM card (with a small modification to your SIM) or sometimes a small PCB soldered inside the phone, these are very very very questionable things to use, they use trickery of the GSM and UMTS network which is considered highly illegal in most countries and they rely on sending bogus IMSIs and various other nasty hacks to obtain service on your iPhone. A couple of our members have written something about how this “works” we’ll try to publish more findings soon. DevTeam recommendation: Steer clear, don’t use.
