BBM for iPhone Gets Touch ID Support, In-App Subscription to Remove Ads

BBM for iPhone has been updated to support Touch ID, along with new monthly subscriptions options in the BBM Shop to remove ads or to buy a customized PIN.

If you want to remove ads shown in BBM, it will cost you $1.19 per month, while the ability to create your own custom PIN is $2.29 per month. This allows you to create a unique PIN that is 6-8 characters long that can contain numbers and letters, so you can differentiate yourself from friends. Err…so this is like being able to customize your ICQ number? 🙂

Buying into a subscription also gets you a badge on your profile picture to let people know you’re a premium user as well.

Why would I pay anything? Whatsapp has a 99c/yr charge and offers pretty much the same functionality with way more people using it. Sadly BBM is trying to monetize a product before they can get a massive user base on it

The BBM4All Hype is dead, the only ones still possibly using BBM are saddly still the small install base that still used Blackberry Phones. The people who did install BBM on their Android/iOS devices either deleted it already or have it sitting on their screens dormant and unused.
