Google Maps for iOS Updated to Show Search Results with Map Descriptions [PICS]

Google Maps has been updated for iOS users to bring improved search results, as they now show right on your map and can also be quickly toggled into a list view. Also new is the ability to view your Gmail appointments and reservations on the map, plus the new Explore guide to help you find places around you based on the time of the day.

What’s New in Version 3.2.0
• Search results appear with descriptions right on the map, to help you make choices quickly
• View search results on the map or in a list and easily switch between them
• See your reservations and appointments from Gmail labeled on the map
• Try the new Explore, a local guide that shows you different places and activities depending on the location and time of day

Here are screenshots of the new search results, which as you can see show descriptions of your search right on the map, plus the option to see list results:

Here is the Explore guide, (which isn’t new) but now seems to offer better suggestions based on your location and the time of day:

I wasn’t able to see any of my Gmail appointments or reservations on the map yet, probably because I don’t have any upcoming. Let us know if you see them in this update.

Click here to download Google Maps for iOS. It’s still far superior to Apple Maps (for my location anyways), which I can’t remember the last time I opened or used.
