The taxi app Hailo has partnered with Molson Coors Canada to give away $1 million dollars worth of taxi fares for the upcoming holiday season in Toronto, part of a campaign to ensure people get home safe for the holidays.

“At Hailo, we make it easy to get home from any holiday gathering – allowing anyone to hail and pay for a taxi with two taps on the screen of their smartphone,” said Justin Raymond, President, Hailo Canada. “And now, we’re making it easier on the wallet, too. We want to make it simple for people to choose the safe way home after a holiday celebration.”

Starting today until New Year’s Eve, Hailo cab fares in $10 increments will be available at over 100 licensed bars and restaurants in Toronto, secured with Molson Coors Canada.

“Safe travel becomes much more important during the holidays. At Molson Coors, we’re committed to helping consumers make responsible choices about having a good time,” explained Carole Berry, Lead, Corporate Responsibility Programming for Molson Coors Canada. “We’re proud to play our part by encouraging every Torontonian to plan a safe ride home with Hailo.”

Hailo’s president notes the company wants to give back to the City of Toronto “that’s welcomed us so warmly” and this $1 million contribution in free fares is a start.

Sounds like a fantastic campaign that’s a win-win for everyone. Have you tried using Hailo for your taxi services?
