[Updated] Infinity Blade Now Live in App Store

Update 1: I just picked up this game (300MB+ download; iTunes!)…and it’s incredible. The graphics are so real, and the gameplay is pretty awesome. Soundtrack and effects are just over the top. A must have for 2010! Screenshots below:

Back at Apple’s September Event, developers previewed a game with some incredible graphics from the makers of Unreal Tournament. The free demo Epic Citadel showed the world what Unreal Engine 3 graphics were capable of on an iOS device.

The first mobile game powered by Epic’s cutting-edge Unreal Engine 3 technology, Infinity Blade takes handheld gaming to new heights with gorgeous visuals, adrenaline-fueled battles and advanced character progression in a fully 3D castle realm.

Now, the final game Infinity Blade is live in the App Store for $5.99. The graphics look ‘unreal’. Let us know if you pick this one up. We’re going to get this and let you know what we think of it.

Click here to download in iTunes – $5.99.

After reading your review I bought the game right away. I was indeed impressed with the graphics, but I hate the gameplay. It had so much potential with the large graphical environment, but that was wasted by having no plot despite the opening sequence and all you do is sword fight. That’s it! It’s so boring.. I was hoping for something more like Zelda for wii where there’s fighting but also puzzles to solve and a large world to explore. Why won’t someone make something like that for iPhone? It would be a big hit.

Also it looks like writing a comment with the iPhone on mobile theme isn’t working

    How is it on battery?

I also bought this app this AM.

Very disappointed in the game play. I feel like they used the ‘ol bait and switch. The Epic Citadel wow’d me with the ability to wander around this beautiful world, and was hoping the game would do the same. Nope. you have very limited choices on where you can go and what you can do.

I find the battles boring after awhile, and not very well doucmented, as far as all the options go in the “store”, etc.

In the space of the $0.99 app, for my money, this isn’t worth the $5.99 price tag. If they offered a lite version, of the game play, I bet they would sell less copies of the full blown version.

    Visuals 5/5
    Game Play 2/5

Infinity Blade is a fighting game. If you want a richer RPG, wait for Aralon next week, which looks promising.

  • Been playing the game for about an hour now. I have to say the game is pretty addicting, visually gorgeous, but one thing is killing it for me. The story repeats over and over. you start the game by basiclly getting killed 20 years later. now you play through fight 8-10 guys, get to that boss again, fight him for real with no chance on winning, die, then 20 years later, do it all over agian ALMOST the same guys, but stronger, coin sacks have more in them, get to the end, die now 21 years later. Do it again lol

that aside the game it self is pretty fun
