Instagram Now Lets You Share Posts as Direct Messages and More

Instagram launched its Instagram Direct back in 2013 to allow users to send private messages to each other. The company has announced today its 85 million monthly users who use this service can now find new features such as threaded messages, the ability to send images and emoji.

When you want to share content with friends, there’s now a new ‘arrow’ on individual posts that allow you to share content with friends privately as a DM. You’ll also be able to name your conversations as well:

Now, you’ll find an arrow next to the like and comment icons under every post. Tap it to send that post to a friend or group as a message using Instagram Direct. It will appear as part of your conversation, and you can tap the photo or video to see and like the original post. You can also send hashtag pages and location pages by tapping the arrow icon in the top right-hand corner.

These new features are currently rolling out to Instagram on iOS, which you can find in the App Store.
