PUBG Mobile for iOS Launches in Canada

Tencent’s PlayerUnknown Battleground (PUBG), the original battle royale style game, has landed for iOS users in Canada and the USA, bringing the popular PC version of the game to iPhone and iPad.

The game says it’s “an authentic port of the PC version,” as “100 players are dropped on an enormous 8×8 km battlefield. Players fight to survive and eliminate each other through strategy and skill. The last one standing wins! Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!”

Players will be able to team up with friends and voice chat with each other, while PUBG for iOS will work for devices dating back to the iPhone 5s on iOS 9 or newer, although iPhone 6 or higher is recommended. Fortnite on the other hand, which recently launched on iOS as well (currently invite-only), requires iPhone 6s or newer.

PUBG fans are really happy about this iOS launch, as early reviews the App Store are very positive with five stars across the board. The title has quickly vaulted to the number two spot under the ‘Top Free’ Games category in the App Store, right behind—you guessed it—Fortnite.
