Apple’s Swift Playgrounds iPad App Download Now Available

Back in June at WWDC, Apple announced Swift Playgrounds for iPad, a new app aimed at making coding fun and easy for anyone. That app is now available in the App Store for iOS 10 users.

“Everyone should have the opportunity to learn coding, and we are excited to bring Swift Playgrounds to the next generation of programmers looking for a fun and easy way to explore key coding concepts using real code,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. “More than 100 schools around the world have already committed to adding Swift Playgrounds to their fall curriculum, and we can’t wait to see what students create with it.”

The app enables students to learn core coding concepts, through solving various puzzles, challenges and more. Apple says it is also a way to for “seasoned developers to quickly bring ideas to life.”

Swift Playgrounds requires an iPad Air, iPad Pro or iPad mini 2 and later running iOS 10.
