TalkTo for iOS Update: New Local Shopping Feed, Store Q&A History

One of the most important apps savvy shoppers need to be armed with heading into Boxing Day is TalkTo, the free app which can ask your questions to any retail store in the USA and Canada, and send you back answers shortly afterwards (usually around 5 minutes or so).

Today’s latest TalkTo update officially launches the new local shopping feed, which shows nearly retailers and the questions they have already answered by other TalkTo users. This essentially saves you time when trying to find out information so you don’t have to ask the same question twice.

Also new is the ability to search for a particular store and see previous Q&A history asked by other TalkTo users. Answers shared are not linked to usernames and questions related to reservations and appointments are not listed in any feeds.

I’d like to see more specific dates and times when questions were asked, instead of just “Some time ago”, but I can understand this is in place for user privacy.

Stuart Levinson, CEO of TalkTo said in a statement “Time is precious, especially during the holiday shopping season,” and added “We’ve been delivering answers from local businesses to individuals, and now those responses can benefit everyone. As more answers are collected in TalkTo’s feed, local shopping with nearby merchants becomes faster and easier.”

TalkTo says over the past year businesses have answered “hundreds of thousands” of questions asked by TalkTo users, eliminating the need for tedious phone calls. TalkTo officially launched in Canada back in February of this year.
