TD Canada has officially announced the debut of a mortgage concierge service within their iOS app, which leverages a customer’s location to match them with a nearby and available mortgage specialist.
The company explains the service is powered partly with technology from Canadian fintech Flybits, allowing customers to securely contact a TD mobile mortgage specialist. Mortgage specialists can be emailed or called, while their name, picture, languages spoken and areas served are also listed.
“Our mortgage concierge service is a great example of how we are focused on developing connected and personalized experiences for our customers that add value and help them achieve their personal financial goals,” says Rizwan Khalfan, Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Payments Officer, TD, in a press release.
A recent survey by the financial institution found 56% of Canadian first-time homebuyers are “anxious and afraid” when it comes to buying their first home, with about one-quarter saying the home-buying process is stressful, while one-fifth found it overwhelming.
Marc Kulak, Vice President, Real Estate Secured Lending, TD, said. “Part of our vision includes offering new, digitally-enabled platforms so customers can ask questions and receive real-time, in-the-moment updates about everything that relates to buying a home, from the status of their mortgage application, to answers to questions like: What type of mortgage should I get? How much do I need to save for a down payment?”
The company also reiterates their recently launched digital mortgage pre-approval application, which lets customers get a 120-day rate hold “within minutes” if they are approved when applying online.
TD says their mobile app was recently ranked #1 among Canadian retail banking apps, according to app data firm App Annie.
