theScore for iOS Update Adds User Accounts to Save Settings Across Devices

theScore for iOS has received an update today to version 5.0, which now adds the ability to setup a user account, so your data can be saved and synced across multiple devices.

The score user accounts

Here’s what a user account can do:

  • Synchronize your favorite leagues, teams and players and alert settings across multiple devices.
  • Save these settings so they follow you everywhere – invaluable if you change devices and don’t want to start personalizing again from scratch.

After you install the update, there’s a new terms of service to agree to. You have the option to login with Facebook, or create a new account by submitting your name, email and a password.

Also new is a feature theScore explains will “allow us to suggest leagues and teams you might want to follow based on your location or even what you’ve liked on Facebook by using our social sign-in feature.”

It would have been nice to just have an option for your settings to be saved to iCloud, but data from user accounts would provide some interesting analytics the company can use to show advertisers, most likely.
