Tweetbot Updated To Version 1.5, Brings The Awesome “Mute Filters”

Tweetbot is probably the coolest creation from Tapbots for iOS. The gorgeous UI, tons of features and recently introduced push notifications make it stand out in the ever growing crowd of Twitter clients. But the thing that has really crowned it “the king of all Twitter clients“, is the version 1.5 update which brings a super awesome feature called “Mute Filters”.

One has to admit, there are always some obnoxious friends tweeting gibberish on your timeline and for the sake of your friendship, you can’t afford to “Unfollow” them. This is exactly where the muting comes in!

MacStories describes how the feature works:

So how does muting work? It works pretty similarly to reporting someone as spam: you hold down on that person’s avatar (or alternatively visit their profile and hit the gear button), and select the mute option. If you want to see everything you’ve muted, there’s a new button in the tab bar so you can manage everything and everyone. What about hashtags? Just hold on the hashtag, and mute that bad-boy too. Anyone who tweets with that annoying #hastag will be filtered from your timeline.

The latest Tweetbot update also brings support for Twitter’s very own t.co shortener for URLs and adds the ability to email links to single direct messages!

So how many Canadians do you plan to “Mute” today? Don’t by shy, you can tell us…we won’t tell any one!
