TwitPic App Now In The App Store

TwitPic has released their very own app, in the App Store. It is a simple, free app, for taking photos and video and posting them to the popular micro blogging website Twitter. The first thing you do, after installing the app, is log in to your twitter account. If you are on iOS 5 or better, TwitPic will just ask to access your Twitter info, and automatically log you in. The camera UI is nice and clean, and there are some effects you can add to your pics, before posting them.

The first ever photo sharing site for Twitter comes to the iPhone! Twitpic is the easiest and best way to share your photos and videos with your Twitter followers.

  • Quickly and seamlessly share your photos and videos with all of your Twitter followers
  • Edit your photos with beautiful filters and easy to use enhancement tools
  • Browse your Twitter photo timeline with photos from people you follow in a beautiful interface
  • Browse photos from the most popular Twitpic users
  • Manage your Twitpic photos and videos in your own timeline

One unique thing about this Twitter app is your timeline is only populated with photos and videos you post to TwitPic. You don’t see any other Twitter stuff in there. This is fine, but unless everyone you follow is using TwitPic, you’re going to miss some photos and videos. The effects work really well, but there are a limited number of them. If you were to compare it to something like Instagram, I think this app would lose out. Personally, I have been using Camera+ for a while, and that has the TwitPic app beat by a long shot. Camera+ is a paid app, though, so maybe this is a case of “you get what you pay for”.

Overall, the TwitPic app is really nice. I just prefer to stick with the app I currently use. The TwitPic app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and requires iOS 5.0 or later. You can get it now in the App Store, for free!
