WealthSimple for iOS Gains 1Password Support for Logins

Canada’s largest ‘robo-advisor’, WealthSimple, has updated their iOS app to support 1Password for logins, making it easier get started with the app for those with complex passwords.

The login screen now gains the 1Password icon, which then brings up the iOS share sheet to access the password manager to get your login, as seen in the screenshot below:

WealthSimple accounts can be created instantly via the iPhone app, so users can start investing immediately and allow the service to create customized, diversified and monitored ETF (exchange traded funds) portfolios, with automatic rebalancing when necessary. The service last month was awarded FinTech of the Year, at the Canadian FinTech Awards.

These ‘robo advisors’ such as WealthSimple are disrupting how Canadians invest, and has caught the attention of our big banks, particularly BMO, as they recently launched a competitive product called SmartFolio, offering a similar investing strategy.
