WhatsApp Messenger is Currently FREE in the App Store

Just a heads up for those that don’t have WhatsApp Messenger yet–the app is currently available as a free download in the App Store. WhatsApp is one of the most popular cross-platform messaging apps and is still an important app on my home screen.

Regularly priced at $0.99, WhatsApp allows you to send pictures/videos, voice memos, location and also participate in group chats. It’s stayed true to its original design with a simple user interface and ease of use. If your friends don’t have this yet–tell them to download it now!

WhatsApp was also free during last Christmas, and earlier this year there was a hoax being passed around that the service was ending (it wasn’t). In April, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, WhatsApp noted it was handling 2 billion messages per day. There, the company reiterated it doesn’t exist to compete with carrier SMS services, but to further help sell data plans as the app requires a data connection to function.

Click here to download WhatsApp while it’s still free!

Thanks for the heads up @CatchmeAnuRag!
