13-Inch Retina MacBook Pro to Debut Alongside ‘iPad Mini’ Says Report [Update]

The all but ‘confirmed’ October 23rd media event for the announcement of the ‘iPad Mini’ will also feature the launch of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, reports 9to5Mac:

Alongside the smaller iPad, Apple will debut a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, according to a consistently reliable source at a high-profile U.S. retailer.

This new 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina Display is said to pick up the thinner and lighter enclosure of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display that was released in June.

The new 13″ Retina Display MacBook Pro (known as D1 internally) will apparently be sold in a couple configurations. Back in June at WWDC, Apple announced the 15″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display. Back in late August, 13″ MacBook Pro Retina Displays were rumoured to hit production, while Digitimes claimed these new models started mass shipping last week.

Who wants a 13″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display?

Update: AllThingsD confirms their sources also note a new 13″ MacBook Pro will launch alongside the new ‘iPad Mini’, corroborating 9to5Mac’s report.
