That's because iPhones most of the time require a contract. So if you
want an iPhone, reserve one online through Apple or just buy the gift
card.

The reserve does not work for Iphone. They sell you just a gift card for any Apple item, that do not guarranty there will be an iPhone waiting you. Apple is just too greedy!!
