I actually took a look at these guides when my iPhone 3gs screen was destroyed. They were pretty good directions, but I'm just not technologically inclined to make that kind of phone surgery. I actually found a place called Midwest iPhone Repair that replaced the digitizer for like 60 bucks. Not bad considering what the Apple store is charging or what it would have cost me if I messed up the procedure.
