Apple Said to Host March Event for Apple Television SDK says Analyst [Update]

Apple could be setting the stage for its rumoured television set by introducing an SDK for developers to create apps, possibly at a March event, says Jeffries analyst Peter Misek (via MacRumors):

Channel checks indicate Apple has a product event in March that is Apple-TV related (possibly an iTV SDK introduction). We think a Sep/Oct iTV launch is being targeted.

An Apple television set is estimated by Misek to be 42 to 55 inches in size with starting prices at $1500 (just take my money). Last December, the WSJ reported Apple was testing television set designs with its component suppliers, building on previous reports the company was also working on a set top box, on top of discussing streaming deals with cable companies.

Apple CEO Tim Cook previously stated in an interview with NBC the TV is “an area of intense interest” for the company:

“When I go into my living room and turn on the TV, I feel like I have gone backwards in time by 20 to 30 years,” he said. “It’s an area of intense interest. I can’t say more than that.”

Earlier today, Misek also stated in his reports a 4.8-inch iPhone 6 would be set for a June 2014 launch.

Update: Jim Dalrymple from The Loop has thrown this rumour into the trash with one of this classic replies: “Nope”.
