Not sure where you're getting your prices from but I just checked the Canadian Apple website and the rices are not what you posted..

Even the higher end I think they're still expensive. And frankly as long as they still use OS X they won't be dominating any computer marketing segment; they'll get the niches but they won't see any big gains. Like it or not, Windows still holds 90%+ of the OS market and I don't think that will change for a very long time.

As I said.. . a long way to go.

Do it. These price drops are awesome as Apple never goes on sale. Use
an education discount for more savings too.
