by X1Zero on October 20th, 2009

This mornings Apple product updates regarding the iMac, the MacBook, the Mac Mini, the new Magic Mouse, and Apple Remote were all fantastic. But there were a few products that were updated that have been not so publicized.

Alongside the aforementioned updates, Apple also updated:

AirPort Extreme Base Station ($199)

  • The new AirPort Extreme Base Station received antenna upgrades to increase WiFi performance by 50% and range by 25%. The Base Station is also now officially certified to the 802.11n specification, whereas before it was still under draft-n.

Time Capsule (1TB $329 & 2TB $549)

  • The new Time Capsule received antenna upgrades to increase WiFi performance by 50% and range by 25%. The device is also now officially certified to the 802.11n specification, whereas before it was still under draft-n.

Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter ($79)

  • The new power adapter now has an aluminum connector, which is most notably found of the power adapter of the MacBook Air. If you do not know what the connector is, it is the part of the power adapter that plugs into (makes contact) with the MacBook.

Power

Apple Wireless Keyboard ($69)

  • The keyboard, aesthetically the same, now only requires two AA batteries, where the previous model required three. Whether that is good or bad in terms of battery life is yet to seen. At least you have an extra battery now for the new Magic Mouse.

VESA Mount Adapter Kit ($34)

  • The VESA Kit was originally designed for the 24-inch iMac and the 24-inch Apple LCD Cinema Display. The kit now supports the new 27-inch iMac released today.

I was reading on Engadget and watching on Engadget how they stated that the wireless keyboard now takes ONE batter instead of TWO, I'm not sure which one is correct but I am just pointing this out
  • They are WRONG (that happens to the best of us). The keyboard used to take 3
batteries, but now it takes two. http://www.apple.com/keyboard/
    :)
  • According to Apple, it's two.

So Engadget might want to fix their posting
