Bell Skips iPhone 5c Pre-Orders, But Some Dealers Offering for $50 Down

Earlier today we reported Bell had temporarily canceled their iPhone 5c pre-orders, despite Rogers, Fido and TELUS customers able to reserve their devices.

We reached out to Bell for clarification and in an emailed statement, the company said:

“We’re not doing pre-orders. Looking forward to bringing the new iPhones to customers across Canada on Sept 20.”

There was no explanation behind Bell’s move, but considering Apple.ca still has ample iPhone 5c stock available, we predict launch day will still have lots available at carrier stores, but potential issue will be trying to locate the colour of your choosing. The lack of pre-orders also applies to Virgin Mobile.

There’s still hope though. We contacted Future Shop, Best Buy and Wireless Wave and they said iPhone 5c pre-orders for Bell customers are happening–it just requires a $50 down payment which will go towards the phone. One Bell outlet said they are taking down names to contact customers when the phones will arrive on the 20th.

Two year term pricing is set to start at $229 for 16GB models and $329 for 32GB models.

Apple launched unlocked iPhone 5c pre-orders and carriers around the world also enabled reservations to take place just after midnight on September 13, while the official launch will happen next Friday, September 20.

Bell customers looking for an iPhone 5c–what’s your next move?
