Rogers Launches $45, $55 ‘Smart Picks’ Plans to Match Telus and Bell

Amidst the noise of yesterday’s Rogers website and cell network outage, the company launched new $45 and $55 Smart Picks plans, a response “to match our competitor’s offers” we’re told, which in this case means the same plans from Telus and Bell.

The $45/month ‘Smart Picks’ plan includes:
– 150 Canada-Wide weekday minutes and 6pm Canada-Wide calling
– Unlimited weekends from Friday 6pm to Monday 7am
– Call Display & Voicemail
– 200MB wireless internet
– All Smart Picks plans are eligible to a 10% off BYOD Discount

The $55/month ‘Smart Picks’ plan includes:
– 1,000 Canada-Wide minutes and 6pm Canada-Wide calling
– Unlimited weekends from Friday 6pm to Monday 7am
– Unlimited Messaging (SMS, MMS & Video)
– Call Display & Voicemail
– 500MB wireless internet
– All Smart Picks plans are eligible to a 10% off BYOD Discount

Similar plans are available from Telus and Bell, as seen below. Notice data overages start at $15/400MB from Telus and $15/300MB from Bell, whereas with Rogers it’s $15/1GB. Data charges are the new voice minute overages.
