Rogers Extending Free Shomi to 2 Years for Some Customers

Last fall, Rogers and Shaw launched their streaming service, shomi, and offered a free trial for its TV and Internet customers for three months. Normally, the service costs $8.99 per month.

It now appears Rogers is extending shomi for some customers for another two years for free, according to some RedFlagDeals forum members, which received the following email:

You were one of the first to try shomi, and to say thanks, we’re giving you 2 more years! Keep on streaming the hottest binge-worthy TV shows and all the can’t-miss movies you want, any time, anywhere on any device. Your current Rogers internet plan includes a subscription to shomi through March 31, 2017.

The original poster noted he was about to cancel his shomi trial but received the email above noting he had received a free extension. Don’t forget to check your junk mail he says.

When Rogers launched their Ignite Internet plans last month, all three tiers included free Rogers GameCentre Live and shomi subscriptions.

Have you been watching shomi? Let us know if you’ve received an email about having your trial extended.
