$75 Smartphone & Rocket Internet Stick plan total: $93.65 in NS, NB, NF and $95.81 in PEI

If you add the $20 iPhone 3G Visual Voicemail Value pack, your totals become:

$45 Mega Value Voice & Data plan with iPhone VVM Pack total: $82.35 in NS, NB, NF and $84.26 in PEI

$75 Smartphone & Rocket Internet Stick plan with iPhone VVM Pack total:$116.25 in NS, NB, NF and $118.91 in PEI

The iPhone 3G will be $99 (8GB) or $149 (16GB) and the iPhone 3GS will be $199 (16GB) or $299 (32GB) with any of the Mega Value Voice & Data/Smartphone plans, whether you add the $20 iPhone VVM Pack or not.

Note: Because the Mega Value Voice & Data/Smartphone plans already include a Data option, you will not be able to “add” more data to these plans as you can if you get a SEPARATE voice and separate data option.

Thanks for the info. Prices are just getting ridiculous for a phone! 🙁 Too bad it wasn't like the good old days when phones were not taking over the world lol and plans were cheap!

Some expensive plans out there. I'm happy with 100 minutes, 7pm E/W, 6GB and caller id/voice mail for $61ish after tax.

  • jabohn

Huh? The Rogers website has the iPhone Data Value Pack at $35, not $40 as listed here (I'm in B.C.). Includes 500MB data, Call Display, Visual Voicemail, Unlimited Text/Video/Picture Messaging, Who Called…

  • If you read a post a few days ago, you would know that these changes are effective August 5.

  • chuckyb

what are the details of that plan?

  • JMCD23

Well I have the $25 dollar 100 minute E/W @ 7 with unlimited texting. Caller id/voicemail combo for $10. 6GB of data for $30. This is all with fido, the total of that is $65, bundled with my home phone, internet and tv from rogers it's a 15% discount.

I signed on for another 3 years a month ago for an iphone. I got the iphone data value pack for $35 at that time. Will rogers charge me $40 for the data value pack even though the contract I signed was for $35?

  • No

I just went to the rogers store on aug/5/09 and they wouldnt let me get an iphone without data, and they said that I have to go through customer service to get it, but I called customer service and they wouldnt let me get it without a data plan as well. Maybe I ought to try again? I'm starting to get sick of fido/rogers and their crazy business practices.

  • They're just pushing you into Data. You do not need to have it, but will pay a premium for the device without the data plan.
Try and visit an Apple Store instead. Or sign up for a separate data plan, cancel it and pay the $100 fee.

  • Sat

hmm, that's interesting, but I think I saw on the rogers site that the fee is like $20/month for all the months you have left, and on a 3 year contract, that would be alot. I think I'll try calling up customer service again, maybe ask for a supervisor and just bitch at them till they do what the retail store said they would do

  • no no. that is for the VOICE plan. You are not canceling your VOICE plan. You add a separate Data Plan and cancel JUST the data plan which is $100 maximum fee.

  • Sat

Can't they tell if you're using an iphone by the IMEI and force you to get the data plan? If not, that's cheaper than buying the $400 no data plan price that they told me, I would totally do that.

  • It's irrelevant that Rogers knows what phone you have.

    Promo price: $199
    cancel data: $100
    total: $299

    outright iPhone: 699

  • Sat

I'm just afraid that rogers will try to screw me over by making me return the phone or making me pay extra since I'm breaking the contract or something. And it's not like I can go and ask them, hey cant I just get an iphone and cancel data after?
