Future Shop Lowers Prices For Telus iPhone 3G/3GS On Contract

At WWDC 2010, Apple announced that the next iPhone, iPhone 4, is coming to Canada by the end of July. Apple also announced that the existing iPhone 3GS would be reduced in capacity to 8GB and offered for $99 on contract ($549 without contract).

This week, Future Shop has made a series of price drops for its Telus line of iPhone 3G/3GS devices. The changes are as follows:

  • iPhone 3G 8GB Black: $49.99 (was $99; $50 price drop)
  • iPhone 3GS 16GB Black/White: $99 (was $199; $100 price drop)
  • iPhone 3GS 32GB Black/White: $149 (was $299; $150 price drop)

The iPhone 3GS models have received the largest price drops, especially the 32GB at $150 off. Remember, iOS4 will run perfectly on the iPhone 3GS, so if you’re looking for a deal, this may be it.

Keep in mind however that these prices are with a new 3-year agreement from Telus activated in-store at a Future Shop or Telus location. New activations with Telus also receive the six months unlimited local calling, 6PM early evenings add-on, and activation fee waiver promotions.

Update: The price drops are available at Best Buy locations as well.
