Public Mobile Again Offers $50/5GB Promo Plan If Customers Switch to Koodo

Share:

Last month, Telus-owned Public Mobile sent out a special offer via text message to users, offering an unlimited Canada-wide calling plan with 5GB of data for $50—If they switched to Koodo. That offer expired during the first week of September, but now a new promotion has returned offering the same thing.

Here’s what iPhone in Canada reader AJ received today:

Public Mobile here with an exclusive offer for you. For an additional $10/month, upgrade to unlimited nation-wide minutes and get another 1GB of data at Koodo! That means you can get 5GB and unlimited nation-wide minutes for only $50/month on a Koodo monthly bill! Plus, you may be eligible for a $0 smartphone on Tab! Offer valid for xxx-xxx-xxxx only. Offer ends October 2nd, 2017.

Here’s the text message in its entirety—users are told to visit their nearest Koodo store and use the supplied promo code to get the special plan (thanks philosophyzombie):

Anyone else get this? Are you considering the switch to Koodo?

I’m on Rogers right now. I would so jump on that if they offered it to non-Telus customers.

I’m on the 4GB/month for $40 promo from Public Mobile and received the Koodo offer yesterday. But there’s not way I’m taking the bait! Currently, I’m paying $35/month ($40 minus $2 for auto-renew, and $3 for friend referrals). I can’t justify the extra $15 for an 1 GB of data. Especially while 4GB is plenty and I’m satisfied with the coverage and services I’m getting from PM.
