TELUS Launches 4G LTE Network in Salmon Arm

TELUS on Friday announced the official launch of their 4G LTE network in Salmon Arm, part of a $600,000 investment and overall $3 billion the company is investing in new facilities and infrastructure in BC until 2014:

“TELUS is committed to providing the best service to our customers, and that includes offering people in Salmon Arm the fastest wireless technology available in the world today,” said Bert Braybrook, TELUS director, Customer Solutions Delivery, Kamloops/Cariboo region.

The TELUS LTE network covered 80% of the BC population in 2012 with notable launches on Vancouver Island, Whistler, and further expansion across Metro Vancouver.

Is anyone else really disappointed with Rogers right now? I’m in downtown Calgary and the LTE is still terrible. Non existant or 1 bar in the suburbs. Meanwhile Belus is on track to have most of the country covered this year! Damn

Bell/Telus might have LTE in more places but I’ve not seen a signal greater than 2 or 3 bars in the Okanagan – even in the middle of Kelowna. I’ve actually turned off LTE on my iPhone 5 because it keeps dropping to 3G and draining battery.
