TELUS Launching 4G LTE in Northwest Territories, Yukon on Sept. 6

TELUS has announced this morning it will be launching its wireless services and products in the Northwest Territories and the Yukon on September 6, with residents being able to access the company’s 4G and 4G LTE network in Whitehorse, Yellowknife, Hay River and Fort Smith:

“TELUS is tremendously proud to offer its full suite of wireless products and services to residents of the Northwest Territories and Yukon. For the very first time, starting September 6, you will be able to purchase a smartphone or other device from TELUS and activate a local Yellowknife or Whitehorse phone number,” said Darren Entwistle, TELUS President and CEO.

Petron Communications will expand its dealer stores to Yellowknife and Whitehorse later this year and will feature TELUS Learning Centres after opening.

TELUS will also contribute $25 from every new smartphone purchase or activation in the Northwest Territories to the Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation in Yellowknife. Meanwhile in the Yukon, $25 from every Whitehorse phone number activation will go to the Yukon Child Development Centre. Both TELUS campaigns will run from September 6, 2013 to May 6, 2014 with up to a maximum of $25,00 for each charity.
