TELUS this morning has announced it has plans to invest $4.2 billion in Alberta for new infrastructure and facilities throughout 2018, which includes plans for wireless upgrades, such as the addition of 4G LTE to every wireless site in the province.
“TELUS’ commitment to improve the lives of Albertans by providing the world’s most advanced communications technology is unwavering,” said Darren Entwistle, TELUS Executive Chair.
The investment will include upgrades such expanding the company’s fibre optic network for Internet in both homes and businesses, while also help plan the deployment of its newly acquired AWS-3 spectrum, plus continue its ongoing 700MHz spectrum rollout for urban and rural communities, to name a few.
Within the recent CCTS Mid-Year report, TELUS and its subsidiary brand Koodo reported the lowest amount of complaints out of incumbent wireless carriers in Canada at 4.4% and 1.4% respectively (posting even lower numbers than WIND Mobile as well).
