CNW reports that wireless AMBER alerts, launched a year ago by the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association in partnership with the RCMP, has reached a milestone of 25,000 users.

The free service sends AMBER Alert text messages to a users device.

Wireless AMBER Alerts assist AMBER Alert agencies in providing the public with immediate and up-to-date information about a child’s abduction, and to solicit the public’s help in the safe and swift return of the child.

The AMBER Alerts service is available across Canada on Fido, Bell, Koodo, MTS, NorthernTel, Rogers, SaskTel, Solo, Télébec, TELUS, Videotron, Virgin Mobile and Wind Mobile.

To opt-in, you can text the keyword ‘AMBER’ to 26237 from your wireless device. Get more info at WirelessAMBER.ca.
