Rogers/Fido Release Unimpressive New Plans

Today, Rogers and Fido released new plans and as compared to the last quarter plans, and even beyond that, the new Rogers plans especially are by far the worst they have ever done.

The middle of December 2009 concluded what was expected to be the final round of Rogers/Fido local calling area reductions. Wrong.

Rogers Expires Freedom Of Speech

Effective February 9, 2010 , Rogers will no longer be offering “Freedom of Speech” (FOS) on any term plans. This means that any customers activating on any monthly, 1, 2 or 3-year term service agreement on or after February 9, 2010 will no longer receive one month of unlimited local calling.

Rogers/Fido Improve WhoCalled Feature

Effective January 28, 2010 (but in full deployment as of February 2), Rogers/Fido have improved their WhoCalled mobile add-on feature.

Rogers Changes Upgrade Policy….For The Better!

In a rare move, Rogers has changed their upgrade policy…for the better! It is now faster and cheaper to get a new device through the upgrade changes.

Just a quick note to potential Rogers/Fido iPhone customers.

If you are looking to get one of the “officially” labeled “iPhone Plans” from Rogers/Fido, you will now have both the Early Cancellation Fee and Data Early Cancellation Fee attached to the plan. In other words, the official iPhone Plans now include both the ECF and DECF which are maximum $400 and $100 respectively for Rogers and maximum $300 and $200 respectively … Read More
