Helium Digital iPhone 3G Leatherback Flip Case Review/CONTEST!!

Happy Wednesday folks! We have yet again another iPhone 3G accessory review. Today we’re taking a look at Helium Digital’s iPhone 3G Leatherback Flip. How does this case compare to others? Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Installing the Helium Digital Leatherback Flip

The Leatherback Flip is pretty straightforward. You open the box and right away you see the leather case with an iPhone 3G screen cutout sitting inside. The Leatherback Flip is made out of 100% cowhide leather, just like the Leatherback Pouch.

Instaling my iPhone into the flip was easy. I slide my iPhone 3G inside and it fit very snug. You have access to all the iPhone controls and the leather flip is held in line by two small magnetic enclosures on the bottom front of the case.

Verdict on the Helium Digital Leatherback Flip

I found the stitching and design of the Leatherback Flip much better than that of the Leatherback Pouch–everything lined up properly. Even though there is a leather flip the case itself is still pretty slim. There are a couple downsides though. There is no belt clip on this case, and after a while opening and closing the flip can be a bit repetitive.

All in all, if you’re looking for good protection for your iPhone with complete functionality, this case might be for you! For $24.99, the price is above on par with other leather cases. Check out the following gallery and decide for yourself:

Well I got a 1st gen. iPhone back in Sept. , and i was using it without a case until i got my first scratch. As soon as I got home I ordered Best Skins Ever (Learned about it here). I made the wrong choice because after a couple of months it started to peel. I should of got the invisible shield because it has a lifetime warranty! Because it started to peel I took the back part off. About a week later it slipped out of my hand because there was very little grip and the screen cracked. I am going to buy the iPhone 3g in a couple of weeks and I want to have the protection the moment I use it. With the invisible shield itÂ’s good to know you can get a free replacement if anything happens.
P.S Awesome contest, and good luck to everyone.

    Thanks

The case looks great though I am not too sure if it would be that functional without a belt clip. That being said, I need to win this product, which in turn would give me the defining reason to purchase a 3G. I have been reading reviews of the iphone and the “iphone killers” being introduced by Samsung and HTC (amoung others) and have yet to make up my mind. 3G seems like the phone for me (except the data/voice plans seem high). My current provider has indicated that they would give me one of those new “iphone killer” phones for free with a three year term. They offer a better data/voice plan as well.

So you see my dilema. Do I buy the iphone and spend more money over the three years, or do I save more money with a better data/voice plan from my current provider and not be totally happy with my purchase.

In the end, the deciding factor will definately be this leather case. If I win the case I will buy the iphone and be done with it. Else, its off to the land of “not quite iphones”.

    No pressure iphone fan.

    I wait your decision.

Please let me win!!!! I am carrying my iphone around NAKED!!! Based on my previous track record…i dropped my razr 5 times…kept shattering the screen and the replacement screen….i could REALLY use a little bovine skin to help provide some classy, cushiony support when my iphone hits the pavement (it definitely will happen)!!!

I have spend the last 19 years of my life in search of a phone, that is not only the coolest device around, but is also functional, finally my search has come to an end… iPHONE! Once aquiring my iPhone I began the epic search for a case strong enough and sleek enough to caress my iPhone while at the same time protecting it. It was clear however that to do this, one would need great skill, and excellent advise from the masters of the craft. I stumbled upon this website, and was pleased to find the sages of the iPhone I had been looking for. After reading reviews upon reviews of various cases, I thought perhaps I had finished my quest, when the case that I had found exploded.. (not really but it sounds cooler than it just sucked out loud), alas I was once again on my quest.. I thought perhaps a leather case would suffice, being less combustable and all. Perhaps a flip leather case… hmm… I Pondered to myself… I suppose I shall once again start my quest by appealing to the sages of iPhoneincanada.ca… Will my story have a happy ending?

I need this because I was lucky enough to get a 4GB iPhone and haven’t been able to get a case to protect it.

I posted my review of the hd-340 on your page! brownie points!
