Helium Digital iPhone 3G Leatherback Flip Case Review/CONTEST!!

Happy Wednesday folks! We have yet again another iPhone 3G accessory review. Today we’re taking a look at Helium Digital’s iPhone 3G Leatherback Flip. How does this case compare to others? Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Installing the Helium Digital Leatherback Flip

The Leatherback Flip is pretty straightforward. You open the box and right away you see the leather case with an iPhone 3G screen cutout sitting inside. The Leatherback Flip is made out of 100% cowhide leather, just like the Leatherback Pouch.

Instaling my iPhone into the flip was easy. I slide my iPhone 3G inside and it fit very snug. You have access to all the iPhone controls and the leather flip is held in line by two small magnetic enclosures on the bottom front of the case.

Verdict on the Helium Digital Leatherback Flip

I found the stitching and design of the Leatherback Flip much better than that of the Leatherback Pouch–everything lined up properly. Even though there is a leather flip the case itself is still pretty slim. There are a couple downsides though. There is no belt clip on this case, and after a while opening and closing the flip can be a bit repetitive.

All in all, if you’re looking for good protection for your iPhone with complete functionality, this case might be for you! For $24.99, the price is above on par with other leather cases. Check out the following gallery and decide for yourself:

    Because as a kid I was forced into wearing one of those thin fake leather ties. I think atleast as a adult I should be able to wear something that is real leather for a change and that I won’t look like a dork!

    To begin, I’ve used leather cases on all my electronics…cell phones to my Archos (blech)… Also in my line of work as a drywaller, I must use protection to prevent injury….that should include my newly acquired appendage….my iPhone!! I’ve wrecked a couple phones from the dust from my work, and as of right now, being caseless for my iPhone, I’m sketchy about bringing it to work. It sits in a corner, carefully wrapped up in an extra shirt I bring.

    Thirdly (?), with the birth of my daughter 2 1/2 weeks ago, its needed!! I’m going to have this for at LEAST the 3 years, and when she hits her terrible 2′s, and becomes fascinated keys and other things shiny (iPhone), that could be a terrible scenario.

    Oh, and I’m not paying for the $50 case Rogers is offering .

    I would love to win one of these cases. It looks very sleek, chic ( think I spelled it wrong? :) & doesn’t look too bulky.
    My problem is that we have a very bad case of ‘iPhone Envy’ in this house & with having 2 active boys, not to mention one of whom is autistic, I don’t ever seem to be able to actually ‘use’ my iPhone, except when there is an actual phone call.

    As well, I will be getting a 3G very shortly, of which this case would fit most beautifully.
    With having a case, @ least when the ‘Green-Eyed iPhone Monsters’ go ‘Gimme,gimme,gimme’…..& all previously taught manners get thrown out the window & it’s basically ‘every man for himself’ & there’s a ‘free-for-all grab-fest’; all in the name of being the first one to get their grubby little paws on Mom’s new iPhone, I’ll have a bit of a fighting chance of keeping my new 3G intact, should heaven forbid, it gets accidentally dropped in the ‘free-for-all’ (GASP).
    Plus, like I mentioned, it will help protect my beloved iPhone from the ‘Green-Eyed iPhone Monsters’ Grubby Little Paws!’

Then came along this 3G Iphone I’ve decided that the wallet has to go somewhere so off it went in the back pants pocket. So with this nice leather case it will be perfect for my new toy since it doesn’t have a belt clip it will feel like I will have another wallet in my front pants pocket.

    this case is same style to the DLO HipCase Leather Folio which I use with my iPod Touch. this one is missing the belt clip which makes it even slimmer, a big reason in the first place I like it.
