iRepair.ca: iPod, Mac, and iPhone Repair in Canada — CONTEST!

by Gary on January 15th, 2009

When you buy an iPhone or an iPod from Apple your new product comes with a one year warranty. However, what happens when that warranty runs out (and you didn’t opt for Apple Care)?

I’ve heard of many people with first gen iPhones that end up with cracked screens from a drop or require a new iPhone battery. What are your options? Well, you can try fixing it yourself but good luck with that. The next best thing is to take it to a reputable repair service, such as iRepair.ca.

iRepair.ca: Fixing Broken iPods, MacBooks, and iPhones Since 2006

iRepair.ca offers a variety of iPod/iPhone screen and battery replacements, along with diagnostics of any problems you may encounter. They can also fix Macs as well, such as the older iBook, PowerBook, and first gen MacBook models.

The cool thing about iRepair.ca is that they offer FREE diagnostic testing for any iPod, iPhone, or Mac product. All you have to do is pay for shipping to and from any iRepair location (one in Vancouver, and two in Toronto–you could probably do a drop off as well). Within 24 hours you’ll hear back from the team about what is needed to be done to your precious product.

Why go with iRepair.ca? Well, for starters they have built up their reputation from one store in Toronto, to now three in total. They also guarantee all their repairs for one year warranty and all parts are OEM from Apple (except for batteries). Just that one year warranty alone is something that you should keep in mind!

Now if only I had sent my 4G 20GB iPod to iRepair instead of selling it for cheap. We can definitely keep our old electronics going instead of having them end up in a landfill by getting them fixed with services such as iRepair.ca!

Can you buy Apple Care for the iPhone in Canada? How much, and where?
  • Tony
I would probably check the apple store, I would be surprised if they didn't have it there.
  • mv740
you can't for now, i asked this question to a guy working there a month ago at the apple store in montreal but he told me that maybe later
  • Alan
    Done!

BTW - just in case you didn't know, if you purchase ANYTHING on your American Express Card, (like your iPhone for example) and you contact Amex about it, they automatically extend the manufacturer's warrant by one year on the item. This is valid for most Amex cards. If you have an Amex, check with them and advise them that you wish to extend the warrant on your iPhone by one year. IT'S A FREE BENEFIT OF USING AMEX FOR MAJOR PURCHASES.
