The YI Discovery Action Camera features a 16MP shooter, with video in 4K at 20fps and 1080p at 60fps, has built-in Wi-Fi so you can transfer images and videos easily to your iPhone or iPad via the company’s iOS app. There’s a 2-inch touchscreen and the 150 degree wide-angle lens is powered by a Sony IMX179 image sensor.
There’s also an accessory case sold separately which adds 40 metres of IP68 waterproofing for this camera, so you can take it anywhere. The camera has 8 shooting modes and comes with a rechargeable battery via micro USB.
YI sent us their Discovery Action Camera to play with a while back. For the budget price, it’s a capable camera with a responsive touchscreen. Pictures and video are decent but the colours could be more vivid (personal preference), however given the price of the camera, it works relatively well, and its plastic build quality is on par with its price.
