Remember the days of owning a brand new OTB 1.1.2 iPhone and having no solution to unlock? Well, along came the torrent of “SIM” solutions, with one of the biggest ones being the StealthSIM. Well, I know a lot of people out there are still using their “SIM” solutions and are still on 1.1.2. Ladies and gentlement, your time has come to update! I’ve received a few emails as of late regarding this, so I am going to address it here.
How to Update to 1.1.4 Using your StealthSIM – Unlock, Activate, and Jailbreak
Step 1: Pop out your SIM tray carefully and remove your “SIM” solution. Yes, I know you paid $99 for it–frame it and store it away for later. It’s a collector’s item now!
Step 2: Plug in your iPhone and sync it in iTunes. After syncing, RESTORE to 1.1.4.
Step 3: Download ZiPhone and click “Do it all”…within minutes you will have an unlocked, activated, and jailbreaked iPhone on 1.1.4! Goodbye StealthSIM!
This is the Cliff Notes version of how to do this. Basically after you pop out your SIM card, you can just follow my video on updating from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 and unlocking with ZiPhone. It doesn’t matter what iPhone firmware you’re on–restoring in iTunes, then using ZiPhone will work. Good luck and happy updating! Let me know how it goes!
