Alleged iPad 5 Case Leak Reveals Slimmer, Narrower Design [PIC]

Purported images of the next generation iPad 5 rear shell were leaked at the end of January, and now it appears the first alleged case leak has made its way onto the web, courtesy of accessory maker minisuit.com, as they have created an iPad 5 case based on information they have received; the company also claims the next generation iPad launch will take place in July of this year:

The site tells us the following tip:

This time around, we received reliable data for the new iPad 5, which is supposed to be released in June of 2013. The data includes specifications that enable us to design the perfect case for this tablet.

Typically accessory makers based in Asia get first access to the dimensions of future products to create ample supply prior to launches. If the image above is legitimate, it does take cues from the iPad mini with its narrower, thinner and squared off corner design. The extra hole at the top is for the microphone and the bottom ports show space for the assumed stereo speakers and Lightning port connector, like what appears on the current generation iPad mini.

Update: Minisuit tells us their company “heavily invests” in these leaks when it comes to device sizing and other dimensions, but also says Apple has been known to throw curveballs with last minute changes.

Update 2: Minisuit says the June 2013 release date is not 100% confirmed according to their sources.
