Apple Pulls iOS 9.3.2 Update for 9.7-inch iPad Pro, Says Fix Coming Soon

Apple has apparently decided to pull the iOS 9.3.2 update, following reports that the software update is bricking some 9.7-inch iPad Pro units. As spotted by MacRumors, 9.7-inch iPad Pro users who skipped installing the update so far won’t see the iOS 9.3.2 update.

You may recall that following the release of the software update, reports have started flowing in that the update is causing an “Error 56” message on some 9.7-inch iPad Pro devices. The error message prompted users to plug the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes to restore, but restoring didn’t solve the problem; instead it bricked the iPads.

Apple has since said it was looking into the issue, but refrained from offering any details on the root of the problem.

iMore quotes an Apple statement saying that the company is working on a fix and a software update is coming soon.

We’re working on a fix for an issue impacting a small number of iPad units that are receiving an error when trying to update the software. We’ll issue an update as quickly as possible.

iOS 9.3.2 for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is still available for download in the Developer Centre.
