Share:

If you are about to open up a new bank account at RBC, their free iPad offer is back. Of course, it requires the opening of one of two accounts:

  • RBC Signature No Limit Banking – $14.95/month fee
  • RBC VIP Banking – $30.00/month fee

Once one of these accounts has been opened, you need to setup one of the following by October 19, 2015:
  • One Regular Payroll Direct Deposit
  • Two Pre-Authorized Payments
RBC says “Once the transactions appear in your new banking account, we will ship you a new iPad mini 2. It’s that simple!”
Of course there are some fine print details to note, such as “Clients who received the iPad mini in 2014 or the iPad mini 2 in the 2015 campaign that ran between April 30th and June 15th are excluded.”
The offer ends September 18, 2015 and is for new customers only. Let us know if you’re going to jump on this.

Well you’re paying service fees so you’re basically “buying” the iPad mini yourself. Not that I’m going to jump on this but what are the specs of the iPad? I would imagine the cheapest model Apple offers no?

Clearly states in the title that it’s an iPad mini 2

    *facepalm* 😉

You can close the accounts after your receive the iPad. Also, if you were already going to open an account anyways with RBC, it’s just an added bonus.

  • Ronin

oops, replied to the wrong person. Post was meant for OP.

  • I’ll drink to that!

You can close the account only after a specified date without having to pay for the iPad mini outright. For last year’s promotion that date is Aug 15th 2015

Why would anyone pay for a chequing account these days? Plenty of free options out there.
