Next-Gen iPhone Part Leak Points At A6 Processor

This year we’ve seen the sixth-generation-iPhone’s display, docking connector, and SIM tray, but the internal specifications have been widely left unknown. One part for example, the processor, we haven’t received significant proof on whether we will see an upgrade from the New iPad’s exclusive A5X chip. So some part leaks are finally providing insight on the situation.

9To5Mac has posted some images of the New iPhone’s logic board. If you look ever-so-slightly, you will notice the A6 processing chip on the left-hand side. Our source has more:

The crisp picture shows the logical board without any protective EMI shielding for an internal look at the A6 chip that supposedly sits inside. We’re a bit weary of the authenticity of this photo as the originator Sonny Dickson stated that it needed to be “enhanced with Photoshop”

If Apple decides to use the A6 processor in the next-generation iPhone, there is a good chance we will see our first quad-core iOS device. For reference, the A5 was a dual-core and the A4 was a single-core.

Another photo posted isn’t all too revealing, but does show us four iPhone 5 logic boards prior to the chip loading process. You can view that photo above.

Keep in mind, these could easily be fake images due to the quality of the photos. We do post them though to keep you updated with the variance of Apple rumors.
