There's not much to set these Zagg Z.Buds apart from the earbud herd. The version with the integrated mic and iPod controls is a more compelling option.

I purchased a pair. While the cord design is interesting, overall I would rate them very poorly.

The sound quality is only average at best. The build quality is very poor, for example the volume control is a piece of junk.

Finally, the iphone connector stopped working. It was still under warranty but they have a $20 restocking fee. After a one month experience I would say they are not even worth that much.

Don't waste your money.

Great design, poor quality. I am on my 5th pair in a matter on 4 months. They fail after about 1 months usage. and since I missed the deadline for a full refund, I have to suffer with these things. Complete waste of money

Agreed on all accounts per above posts. Love the cable design for around the neck but will never buy again if they break down again. Poor quality.
I had same connector problem. New design don't have the base response that they old design had.
Warranty was terrible until I emailed president of company.
There are better headphones out there than Zagg. Only thing good is the unique design of how the cables go around your neck.

I've had 4 in total, 2 of the original design and 2 of the new design. They have all failed. The mic switch stopped working on 3 and the volume control failed on one. The mic switch and volume control are cheaply made snap together plastic units with cheap solders and loose wires inside. They will fail over time. There is noticeable play in the wires going into these units. They are not sealed and not even resistant to weather. Wait until they do a complete redesign of the mic and volume units and actually send some people out in the field for a few months to real world test these things, let alone some good old stress testing in the lab. The cable system is great and the sound is great but until they get the switch and volume control design correct don't waste your money. Chech out the ILOUNGE post too. Similar comments by them also.

The Z.Buds are very good on paper, but not so great in reality...I returned mine after two and half weeks...the plug that plugs into the headphone jack frayed after only a couple weeks using it, at which point the sound cut out of one side. Do not buy these, unless there is a hardware revision or a new model or something.

On the upside, they gave a full refund, minus a few bucks shipping it back to them. I still respect Zagg, and hope they can fix these in the future. The cable design is really cool, and they sounded very good, if a bit "tinny". Comes with several sizes and types of ear bud covers, so no matter what you prefer, you'll have it.

The cable has a remote, so you can pause your iPod. Also has a mic, but only works with the iPhone, not the iPod Touch (1st or 2nd gen) although I knew that going in.

I really like the 'around the neck' design, I could just pop them out when someone was talking to me, without having to dig around in my pockets.

However, for now, I have to say buy the Apple ones. They're more money, and they're better.
