Seems expensive compared to what you get for the City Fido $40 post-paid contract (2000 minutes billed to the second) but reasonable compared to what you typically pay for prepaid minutes (e.g. 30 cents per minute on Virgin Mobile). The new City Fido prepaid plan works out to 4.5 cents per minute. What about a data package? There is no mention of what the data would cost if you purchased a Smart Phone like the iPhone. And look at the long distance rates. Many prepaid providers (e.g. Virgin Mobile) charge you 30 cents per minute for long distance. If you are going to pony-up $40 per month with FIDO why not go with a Wind Mobile $45 per month plan with unlimited talk across Canada? Okay it's not prepaid but what 's the difference? No contract either way.
