I was told by a Fido customer service rep that existing customers with on a No-System-Access-Fee plan cannot purchase the iphone at 199/299 even if I want to start a 3-year contract with them… The best fido can do is for me to sign up as a new customer and get a new phone number if I want to get an iphone at the 199/299 price! I will not be allowed to keep my current number, but I can try to get my current number back after 3 months, but there's no guarantee that it would be available then. I'm not quite sure what this policy means… Why is Fido punishing its customers who are on the NSAF plans? Has anyone experienced this as well? comments?

I went to a kiosk on Saturday to inquire about getting an iPhone 3G with a voice plan only. I was told I could do that, but without a data plan as well, I could not get the 3G for the 99$ deal, but rather that the phone would cost me $299…
