I personally don’t think apple needs to release a new phone this year, iphone4 has more than enough hardware to run a better iOS. They design the best phones in the market.

Obviously!!! The iPhone 4 will no doubt be more than capable of running iOS 5. Its the 3G and 3GS that have to worry whether or not they will run it. It most likely will be a repeat of what happened with iOS 4. The iPhone 3G will most likely be cut out completely or will run an EXTREMELY limited amount of features, the 3GS will run most features but not all, the iPhone 4 will support everything and the inevitable iPhone 4S will be optimized with its A5 dual core chip for iOS 5, can’t wait until Monday to watch live, its my BDAY so I’m hoping for some good news, hoping for a new and better looking UI, notifications system and widgets would be all I need.

Pretty sure 3G is outta the loop on this one, and 3GS may have limited features, but like you said 4 is definitely getting full upgrade until a newer phone is released. As it should considering it’s the top phone.
