Whoa, whoa, whoa! What is this? 3.1.3? 4.0!
So it seems that the folks over at BGR have found some evidence referencing iPhone OS 3.1.3 and 4.0. The indications were located in browser logs and seem legitimate. Check out the image below towards the top left corner.

Now, while this looks legitimate, it is very hard to confirm since these logs can be faked. There are a few browser add-ons out there that allow users to essentially input any textual data into the “user agent” fields. So take this find with a grain of salt.
With that being said, it is not hard to believe that Apple may eventually release 3.1.3 firmware, as the release would be a minor fix, mostly focusing on bug fixes and light enhancements. A 4.0 release on the other hand will be a major jump with a lot of newly added features, similar to what was experienced when OS 3.0 was released.
Maybe we can expect a 3.1.3 release sometime in January 2010? Thoughts?
