Well while this might be good, they still get final say on the applications and I’m sure plenty of developers are fed up with apple rejecting their perfectly legitimate software after putting in many hours of effort in to it.

I think it’s so no one steals their current most recently up-to-date software. It was the first stage, now on to stage two. Give them freedom, make more money out of it- and then cut them from discussions again. It’s all a process to keep the iPhone balanced so nothing comes at once and then they are depleted of keeping customers satisfied.

This is certain to help everyone in the end. A bit of confusion though as to “unreased iPhone Software” will remain under NDA. Does this include Apps from developer, that have yet to hit the App Store, or is it specifically referring to the SDK and new releases of the iPhone OS. Anyone?
