Seems like someone has opened the floodgates, because in the past few days we’ve received a number of 1.1.3 jailbreaks. The first was “unofficially” released by NateTrue–now (as some of you forum lurkers may have already found out about), we have the “official” release of the 1.1.3 jailbreak by the iPhone Dev Team!
What makes this release different from NateTrue’s 1.1.3 jailbreak?
- Your iPhone needs to already be jailbroken on 1.1.2 firmware; NateTrue’s version allowed updating from 1.1.1, but many people have had problems starting from here.
- This solution works for both Windows and Mac.
So if you’re going to attempt this update, you should be at a jailbreaked 1.1.2 state, then install the latest “BSD Subsystem” via Installer prior to starting this upgrade. Check out this guide from HackThatiPhone for some step by step Windows instructions (Click here for Macs). As I’ve mentioned before, before you start an upgrade, back up your data and be prepared to take on some risk! Good luck!
