Steve Jobs Still Involved with Apple’s Operations–From Home

The surprise announcement of Steve Jobs’ medical leave almost a month ago shocked many in the tech community. With Tim Cook taking over the reigns, many wondered if Steve was still active in day-to-day operations at Cupertino.

The Wall Street Journal reports tonight that Steve Jobs is still involved, according to Yukari Iwatani Kane (she’s always well-informed):

Three weeks into a medical leave he took “to focus on my health,” Apple Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs is staying closely involved in the company’s strategic decisions and product development, according to people familiar with the matter.

The 55-year-old Mr. Jobs, whose ailment hasn’t been disclosed, has been taking business meetings at home and on the phone, these people said.

He also has been seen on Apple’s Cupertino, Calif., campus and in public in Palo Alto, Calif., with a company executive, said people familiar with the matter.

We’re not surprised that Steve Jobs is still making decisions, from home despite his health concerns. The man is passionate about his work, and I bet it’s even easier now that he can use…FaceTime from his iPhone 4!
